  • The cut out pattern comes from the actual sink turned upside down on the stone.

 

  • This type of cut out has the stone overhanging the sink.

 

  • A standard 3 1/2" hole saw is what I use to cut out the sink corners. A carbide hole saw is recommended.


  • Cut the straight lines with your circular saw.

  • Keep the stone supported while you complete the cut.

  • Checking the rough cut.

  • Now that the center is gone the finishing begins.

  • Finishing the corners.

  • A router and round over bit works well to finish the edges.

 

  • Hand sand the finished edge with 100 grit paper.

  • A large kitchen sink needs to be supported with a frame attached to the inside of the cabinet.

 

  • Smaller bar type sinks can be fastened with silicone.
